The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms (like your name and email) so we can send you the Deal Playbook, follow up, and book calls you ask for.
- Your Deal Workbook answers stay in your browser. We never see them unless you send them to us.
- No advertising trackers, no analytics cookies, and we never sell your information.
- Want your information deleted? Email info@ripmediagroup.com.
This policy explains how whybuyerssayno.com (the “site”) handles your information. The site is run by Maury Rogow, author of Why Buyers Say No (“we,” “us”). Questions go to info@ripmediagroup.com.
1. Information you give us
When you fill out a form on the site, we receive what you enter:
| Form | What we receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Get the Free Playbook and the quick signup | First name, last name, email, and optionally company, role and where your deals usually die | To give you the Deal Playbook and send a short series of follow-up emails about the book and its tools |
| Unlock all 100 Reasons | First name, email, and the reasons you flagged | To unlock the full list and, if you like, send related tips |
| “What’s killing your deals?” (thank-you page) | The answer you tap, with the name and email you just gave us | So our follow-up emails match your situation |
| 15-Minute Pitch Teardown | Name, email, role, team size, what you sell, and the pitch you paste | To prepare for and hold the call you request |
| Wednesday Pitch Teardown | First name, email, and optionally your role and the pitch you paste | To send the Zoom link, reminders and calendar invite, and to prepare pitches for the live call |
| AI coach early access | To tell you when the coach is available |
If you email us or message Maury on LinkedIn, we receive what you send.
2. Information that stays on your device
Some features remember things using your browser’s local storage. This information is stored on your device and is not sent to us:
- Your Deal Workbook answers, so they’re there when you come back. Use “Start over” on the workbook page, or clear your browser’s site data, to erase them.
- Whether you’ve unlocked the Playbook or the 100 Reasons, and your first name for a friendly greeting.
- Whether you’ve already seen or acted on the “buy the book” pop-up, so it doesn’t keep appearing.
- Game progress on the interactive tools.
We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don’t run tracking pixels.
3. Information collected automatically
Like every website, our hosting provider (Netlify) receives standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address and browser information when the fonts load.
4. How we use your information
- To deliver what you asked for: the Playbook download, unlocked tools, a booked call.
- To send emails about Why Buyers Say No, its tools and related offers. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also just reply “unsubscribe.”
- To respond to you, and to understand which content helps readers most.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Who we share it with
We only share information with service providers who help us run the site and communicate with you, and only for that purpose:
- Netlify hosts the site and receives form submissions.
- Brevo, our email service provider, stores your contact details and sends our emails.
- Zoom hosts the Wednesday Pitch Teardown if you join it (Zoom’s privacy policy applies on the call).
- Google, if you choose to book a call through Google Calendar appointment scheduling (Google’s privacy policy applies there), and for Google Fonts.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety. Links to Amazon, LinkedIn and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
6. How long we keep it
We keep form submissions while you’re on our list or while we’re in touch, and delete them when they’re no longer needed or when you ask. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a do-not-email list so we don’t contact you again.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you, at any time. Email info@ripmediagroup.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (for marketing emails), on what’s needed to give you what you asked for (the Playbook, a call), and on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to form submissions. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
9. International visitors
We’re based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than where you live.
10. Children
The site is for business professionals and isn’t directed to children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or sent by email.
